Dentaide, a customized program
An asset with multiple benefits, that translates in many ways
In October 1981, the Société de services dentaires (SSD) was created with the aim of setting up Dentaide, a new direct payment program for dentists. This unique, innovative concept offered dentists a range of advantages.
When Dentaide began its activities in 1983, it launched a telephone service that dental offices could use to provide information related to dental insurance claims. This service was eliminated in 2011 as nearly all dentists who participate in Dentaide were sending their claims electronically.
In order to make the system as user-friendly as possible, SSD introduced electronic transactions in 1993 and participated in developing and setting up the ACDQ-CDANet network in 1997.
Dentaide had to adjust its course several times in order to keep up with computer developments and the growing use of electronic transmission. This is why, in the 2000s, Dentaide decided to concentrate on its role as a payer and an intermediary between dentists and insurers.
